Code 2 - perfect practice makes perfect
Are you practicing Golf incorrectly?
Since the 15th century we have been practicing golf as if it is a moving ball game. Picking
the club up and just hitting the ball. This is fine for a moving ball game but it’s not good
for a
stationary ball game such as Golf. So what we have to do is move the club
correctly?
You’ve got to match the body and the arm hand and club movement to allow the ball so simply
get in the way of the movement.
“If I had my time over again - This is what I
would do.” Peter Cowen
I’ve hit more golf balls than anybody, probably 4 million or more and I’ve never seen the
clubhead hit the ball because it happens so fast. So I might as well be blind folded and
just
make a movement because the ball is going to be there. Improving one's strength can of
course help but it is not the be-all-end-all. What you’ve got to understand is that if you
get
someone who is 80 years old and they get the correct movement with what the arms and the
club are doing, they can still hit decent shots. It’s a physical movement that won’t injure
you because it’s much more natural. I want players to be able to more natural. I want
players to be able to repeat the same body action every time and then I can complete that
with the arm, hand and club action that is going to swing the club on an arc, relative to
the shot that they intend to play. This arc with an iron will collect the ball prior to the
low point in
the arc of the swing. In other words we compress the ball before making contact with the
ground. So if we want the game to progress – and I do – I know that there is a better way to
improve
quickly and it is all here
